HiHiRi PiPiRi Futchka Mountain Project Grant supported Humanitarian Aid Specialist Jo Bergson for the facilitation of a pilot project, in partnership with Asylum Links, which housed a user-directed makers-space for/with Rohingya emerging Artists and youth talent stranded in southern Bangladesh. 05. /23Santinketan ArchiveCustodianship and the art of preservation known to monks. Therein, incubation, maturation, fermentation - SPIRALING from the center > outward. Lasting a time-space.
HiHiRi PiPiRi continues our physical presence in the town of our origin, where our first Mud-House Artist Residency was seeded, there lovingly housing Artworks of Featured Artists, a library of 250+ books, museum artefacts, camping equipment, a recycling center and garden, interview cabinet-studio, and most importantly, a place for convergence and returning home. |
06. /23Empowering Communities with Indigenous KnowledgeHiHiRi PiPiRi is proud to partner with IYX Africa to help offer remote assistance to Indigenous communities in remote and rural areas of Southern Africa. In 2023 our reach included rural Namibia, Botswana and South Africa including services like a field clinic, on-site workshops, indigenous leadership conference (conflict resolution), youth camps, storm aftermath relief and more.
We have so far contributed to this project in their times of need with considerations from our FoHP Urgent Relief program. When IYX organizers were stranded in the road after a flood, we were able to provide petrol expenses for their safe passage home and make up for some of the losses accrued by climate caused interruption to their Indigenous Youth Camp. www.iyxafrica.com |

08. / 23International Art Camp at Kushtia, Bangladesh"The essence of Crack is inspired by the Baul Fakiri sadhu shongo, or a traditional gathering of spiritual seekers, in which there is no transaction of money, but rather, the free exchange of knowledge, beauty, and love." HiHiRi PiPiRi has had presence as participating and organizing Artists at CRACK for the last 5 years, and in the sense that seniors of this program have become revered mentors, it feels as though the spirit of our projects have been intertwined since CRACKs conception in 2007, like the cells of a baby exist in the Mother, as we were always destined to continue one another.
FoHP now provides Mobility Scholarships required for HP Represented Artists to visit this Satellite GLocality (Bus/Train Tickets + Visa expenses), made especially available to Bengalis divided by the Indo-Bangla border. |
